Freedom Quilts Annual Event to Honor Families – April 2nd

April 2nd will be a very respectful event held for the families the following heroes:

Sgt Dillion Naslund
SSgt Shawn Roeder
Sgt Joseph Delashmutt
Chief Petty Officer Jon Tumilson
Command Master Chief Petty Officer Mark Snedeker

Freedom Quilts will start the event with the families being driven to the Freedom Quilts Shop in two limos and an SUV from Ramussen Ford. The Knights of Columbus, Legion Riders and Patriot Guard will escort the families.

When the families arrive, Congressman King and Jerry Self from Senator Ernest’s Office will be greeting them along with the founder of Freedom Quilts, Betty Nielsen.

Legion Riders will be present with the Avenue of Flags. Sponsors, donors and fire departments from around the area will also be present to honor the families. A program will be held honoring them all with a quilt made with so much love and respect for each of them.

We are hoping that each family will feel the love generated and know that their love ones will never be forgotten.

I was so full of joy when I was told I would be receiving a quilt from these hundred plus women who honor our fallen with their incredible talent! I wished I could have made the ceremony, but appreciate all you have done to bring me closer to my Matthew!
Thank you from my two daughters, grandson, Anthony and myself!

One major event is the annual Freedom School quilt auction. During their annual celebration, Osage families host giveaways to honor community and family members. Many times quilts are a part of the giveaway.
